David Fowler - Founder/Director

Coach David Fowler is the Founder and Executive Director of Your Future Basketball, Inc., bringing over 25 years of proven coaching, recruiting, and player development experience across every level of the game. His career reflects a rare combination of on-court success, academic leadership, and long-term athlete advocacy, making him one of the most well-rounded and respected figures in grassroots basketball.

Coach Fowler has coached and led programs at the middle school, high school, prep school, and collegiate levels, building competitive cultures while prioritizing player growth, accountability, and opportunity.

    Beyond the sidelines, Coach Fowler has also worked with i20 Sports & Entertainment in Longview, Texas, where he planned, organized, and directed elite basketball exposure events, developmental camps, and charity showcases for former NBA players David Wesley and Michael McDonald. His work in this space helped bridge the gap between grassroots basketball and the collegiate recruiting landscape.

    Throughout his career, Coach Fowler has assisted more than 100 student-athletes in continuing their basketball careers at the collegiate level, a testament to both his recruiting knowledge and his commitment to long-term player success. While serving as Recruiting Coordinator at Patrick Henry Community College, he played a key role in assembling the #2 ranked NJCAA Women’s Basketball team, which captured the NJCAA Region X Championship and finished as the 2010 NJCAA Division II National Runner-Up.

    Coach Fowler’s impact extends well beyond basketball.

    He holds:

  • an Associate of Arts & Sciences Degree in Recreation, Parks & Leisure Studies

  • a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports & Health Sciences

  • a Master’s Degree in Special Education

    He is a licensed educator through the Virginia Department of Education and currently serves as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager at William Monroe High School in Stanardsville, Virginia. He is also certified through the American Sports Education Program in Basketball Technical & Tactical Coaching.

    At the core of Coach Fowler’s philosophy is the belief that basketball is a vehicle, not the destination. His work consistently emphasizes academic accountability, character development, and preparing athletes and families for life beyond the game.

    Coach Fowler resides in Ruckersville, Virginia with his wife Leticia and their three children: Tyson (19), Jordan (17), and Italee (13).
